The Law Office of Purav Bhatt – Aggressive Military Criminal Defense Lawyers

Criminal defense lawyer Anthony Villalobos graduated law school in 2012, and instantly found himself in the courtroom, taking cases to trial and getting not guilty verdicts. He graduated from Chicago-Kent, a top five trial advocacy law school. Of his graduating class, Anthony Villalobos was the first to be admitted to the Federal Trial Bar because of how many trials he did as a Chicago criminal defense attorney right out of law school. However, after three years of practicing law, Anthony Villalobos wanted to do something different before he got too old, so he enlisted in the U.S. Army, as it was the only guaranteed way to try out for the 75th Ranger Regiment. After three years and two deployments as a Forward Observer at 3rd Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Anthony walked out of A Co. 3/75, went back to Chicago for the weekend, and reported to JAG Corps training back at Fort Benning that next Monday. After five years of JAG Corps practice, seeing every angle of the military justice system, Anthony left the Army and returned to Chicago to head back to private criminal defense practice.

Criminal defense lawyer Purav Bhatt graduated from law school and immediately began working as a Cook County, Illinois prosecutor. Seeing the criminal defense trial process as a Chicago prosecutor, Purav Bhatt knew he wanted to continue in the courtroom, but representing those wrongfully accused. In 2010, he left the prosecutor’s office and opened The Law Office of Purav Bhatt, defending people in criminal allegations throughout Chicago and the greater Chicago area. From there, he expanded to representing those accused throughout all of Illinois, in both State and Federal court. That means he brings the aggressive Chicago criminal defense attorney mentality, with Federal system experience to each and every military member he represents.

Attorney Purav Bhatt met attorney Anthony Villalobos in 2014. There was an overlap between Purav’s criminal defense work and the civil litigation trial work Anthony focused in. The two worked a case together and always talked about making it a partnership in the future because they both had the same aggressive mentality in representing clients. In 2024, Purav Bhatt and Anthony Villalobos combined forces, with Anthony leaving the Army and immediately joining The Law Office of Purav Bhatt in Chicago.
